Moderate drought develops over parts of northeast Iowa

Prolonged dryness that has hit northeast Iowa has led to drought conditions through portions of the area.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Drought Monitor release Thursday, April 29, showed the northern half of the Hawkeye State in at least abnormally dry conditions, with severe drought reported in northwest Iowa and moderate drought reported over parts of northeast Iowa.
