Turnovers sink Bulldogs at Sumner-Fredericksburg

Sumner- Fredericksburg turned five MFL MarMac turnovers into 22 points on its way to a 44-0 victory over the Bulldogs in both teams’ final non-district game of the season.

The Cougars (4-0) outgained MFL MarMac by just 45 yards but forced the Bulldogs into four fumbles, including two deep in the red zone early in the game that changed momentum.

The miscues were out of character for an MFL MarMac team that had turned the ball over just once in its previous two games, both of which were victories. The Bulldogs moved the ball effectively, particularly on the ground. Senior fullback Garret Keehner rushed for a career-high 103 yards on 13 carries while junior quarterback Cedrick Drahn completed 5-of- 10 passes for 84 yards with his first interception in three games.
