Small MFL MarMac track boys’ track and field team will focus on individual goals

MONONA — You are not likely to see the MFL MarMac boys’ track and field team high in the standings of a lot of team races this season. That just doesn’t happen when you only have 11 boys running. That does not, however, mean the Bulldogs do not have big goals this season.
“We don’t really worry about the team score - we did a couple of years ago when we had 20 or 25 guys out,” Coach Dan Anderson said. “We just want to make sure that we’re improving our times each week and when we put together a relay you’re not only running for yourself, but for your buddies there.”
Top Bulldog returnees include Zach Trudo and Dylan Corlett. Trudo ran middle and long distance a year ago, finishing eighth at the Upper Iowa Conference meet in the 1,600 meters and regularly running on the 4 x 400, 4 x 800 and medley relay teams. Corlett was a 400- and 800-meter man a year ago, recording the team’s top time in the 400-meter hurdles and the second-best time in the 800.
