More than 200 attend Bandstand rededication

More than 200 people were on hand Saturday as the City of Monona rededicated its bandstand in City Park.
 
Mayor Fran Passmore said at one point there was talk about the bandstand being torn down, so seeing a restored structure that looks similar to the one originally built in 1928 is satisfying.
 
 
“People raised some concern (about it being torn down) because it’s a historic building that they didn’t want to see bulldozed over,” she said. “Then we got the committee going and decided we would try to restore it.
