Four Bulldogs honored on all-UIC team Hertrampf earns first-team honors

Four MFL MarMac players have been named to the 2017-18 Upper Iowa Conference all-conference boys’ basketball team.

Senior Mason Hertrampf was named to the all-UIC first team while sophomore Tyler Kurth was a second-team pick and both senior Levi Ferguson and sophomore Cedrick Drahn were honorable mention picks.

Hertrampf wrapped up a sterling senior season that saw him top the 1,000 career point mark as MFL MarMac’s top scorer and steals leader. The 6-footer averaged 14.6 points per game (sixth in the conference) while knocking down a team-high 44 3-pointers. He also recorded 56 assists and 32 steals. He finishes his career with 1,037 points and 178 3-pointers.

Kurth, a 6-foot-4 post player, averaged 12.7 points and a team-high 7.9 rebounds for the Bulldogs. He shot a conference-leading 61.5 percent from the field while also recording 19 blocked shots (fourth in the conference).

Drahn ranked third on the team with seven points per game this year while shooting a team-best 37.1 percent from 3-point range and recording a team-high 100 assists (ranking second in the conference). Drahn’s 2.2:1 assists:turnover ratio was the best in the conference this year.

Ferguson wrapped up his career by ranking fourth on the team with 6.5 points per game. The 5-11 guard shot a team-best 73 percent from the free throw line while ranking second on the team with 94 rebounds and third on the squad with 28 steals.

The Bulldogs finished 7-15 overall and tied for fourth in the UIC with a 7-6 conference mark.
