Bulldog harriers face tough competition at Starmont, Central

The MFL MarMac cross country teams faced some of the state’s strongest teams during a busy week of action that included meets at Starmont Tuesday and Central (Elkader) Thursday.

The Bulldog girls placed sixth at Starmont and fifth at Central while the boys were ninth at Starmont and sixth at Central. Kee High’s girls, who are ranked second in Class 1A, won both meets while Class 1A No. 12 Denver won the Starmont boys’ meet and Class 1A No. 7 South Winneshiek won the Central boys’ meet. A total of four ranked girls’ teams were in the Starmont meet and two were in the Central meet while two ranked teams were in the Starmont meet and one in the Central meet.
