Aces strike twice for Luana man

LUANA -- Many golfers wait a lifetime for their first hole-in-one … and after that may never see another one. A Luana man, however, defied the odds earlier this summer, collecting two aces on the same hole at the Tri-City Golf Club.

Dave Mueller aced Tri-City’s sixth hole during a round with friends June 2 and then repeated the feat while playing with his wife, Brenda, in a couples tournament July 8. Both shots were with a six-iron on the 165-yard hole.

Mueller said he didn’t see the first shot go in, though playing partner Kerry Seitz saw it drop.

“I knew it was good, but I thought it rolled off the back side,” he said.

Seitz, however, insisted it went in the cup.
