2015 Clayton County Pork Producer’s Banquet held

The 2015 Clayton County Pork Producer’s Banquet was held Saturday night, October 3 at Johnson’s Reception Hall in Elkader, during which annual awards were given out and the Pork Royalty for the upcoming year were crowned.

The first awards to be given out were the county fair swine carcass trophies. In the Derby Division, the winner was Kennie Orr, whose animal finished with a LGOT (Lean gain per day on test) of 1.0589. Finishing close behind in second and third were Kristen Willenborg and Peyton Gaul, who posted LGOT scores of 1.0543 and 1.0516, respectively. In the second divison, which was judged on a live weight basis, the top finisher was Tristan Weigand. In second was John Glawe and Keaton Lane took third. The award for Champion Derby Individual this went to Westin Rowcliffe, while Kenny Orr won the award for Champion Derby Pen. Melanie Lane won both awards for Market Individual and Market Pen.
