‘Dogs take two of three from Clayton Ridge/Central

MONONA — Cedrick Drahn and Kaleb Tilson combined on a four-hitter last Tuesday as MFL MarMac took the rubber game of a three-game series against Clayton Ridge/Central 16-1 in Monona.

The Bulldogs (6-9 overall, 3-5 Upper Iowa Conference) took the non-conference game of the series 9-0 June 15 while the WarEagles took game two of the series 3-2 last Monday. Monday’s game was shortened to 5 ½ innings due to lightning while Tuesday’s game had originally been scheduled as the second game of a doubleheader Monday.

Drahn and Tilson threw two innings each in Tuesday’s game, with Drahn throwing shutout baseball and Tilson allowing only a lone third-inning run. The Bulldogs led by just one run, 2-1, in the middle of the third inning before taking advantage of WarEagle walks and miscues to score seven runs in both the third and fourth innings and end the game early on the 15-run rule.

Drahn, Nathan Johanningmeier and Garret Keehner had two hits each for the ‘Dogs while Trevor Jones scored three runs and Jackson Landt had three runs batted in.
