Construction underway on new Clayton County Fairgrounds swine, sheep complex

NATIONAL — The Clayton County Fair Board has begun work on a new swine and sheep complex at the Fairgrounds in National.
Construction was made possible through a $50,000 grant that the Fair Board received from the Upper Mississippi Gaming Corporation.
According to a Fair Board representative, the existing rabbit/poultry barn and swine show ring were moved from their previous locations and the old swine and sheep barns were demolished last fall to make room for the new facility.

Warm December weather allowed the Fair Board to pour footings and build side walls for the new complex.
